My Addiction...Parkour

S'up world? Scholastic Rebel here again to enlighten or educate you, if you will on something quite important to me. Nothing serious, in fact it's quite fun. I'm talking Kung Fu Hustle/Kick Ass fun...without the Buddha Palm and Hit Girl......

Parkour. Which is also known as Free Running but with its differences. Parkour or L'art du deplacement (the art of movement) is the physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one's path by adapting one's movements to the environment.  Free Running is the same thing...but with acrobatics. I'm sure you'ev seen the beginning of Casino Royale? The black guy running goes by the name of Sebastien Foucan...a free runner or traceur as we call ourselves.

I've been doing Parkour for about a year now and I gotta tell the truth...it's the best thing to come to this world...apart from anime, manga and Scrubs...
(im the one in the gray >.<)
There are classes in London which train you to be the best Traceur you can be and honestly, in a year, I've come quite a long way...and I still got a way to go. I'd encourage to watch the videos and see just how amazing Traceurs are. Doing parkour develops your mental strength in order to utilise your physical strength at its fullest.

We as humans are capable of great things and Parkour is one of them. There's something about climbing a huge wall, jumping a huge gap and doing different moves with your body that makes you feel superhuman. And yes...girls do it too...I'm not ashamed to say there are girls better than me. There is no grade system. Everyone trains at the same level...and some train outside classes.
Here are some pics of me and others jumpin around xD...enjoy

And that's all from me...the Scholastic Rebel...or Urban Hermit...as I call myself...ok..fine...Urban MONKEY...i know you wanted to hear that. If you have any questions on this topic, don't hesitate to holla back. Peace.

Our Lives...As References for the Future

Good (looks at clock) morning guys. Hope you've had a good weekend. I know I have. I've got a little something for you. Don't worry. Nothing long and boring...and depending on your outlook on life, you might find this quite useful.

I called this blog post: Our Lives as References for the Future...take a minute to think.

These days, we go about our lives mostly motivated by certain goals. Making that green, buying that pair of jeans, gettint that Blackberry, linking that person...etc....but we fail to see how our actions would look if we were being watched.
The fact is, we are being watched. Apart from the Big Brother technology surrounding us, we are being watched by an even greater security camera: God.

I'm not gonna come up with any long religious argument...I'ma keep this short:
If we kept in mind that we were being watched by God, our families and friend's, we might change the way we act towards others, ourselves and how we live. I assume that we'd want people to see us in a positive light, right? Especially if we want to be role models for the future and present.

So why do the dirty? Why talk behind other's backs? Why steal? Why insult? Why be a player? Why be a liar? No-one said the righteous path would be an easy one. Trust me, I know. It just makes common sense really. What's the point in having to watch your back everytime, when you could just give up the negative stuff and be able to just look ahead without being scared of your past?
God forgives all if you're willing to change. Positive actions bring about positive karma at unexpected times.
There's a track I usually listen to by Talib Kweli (awesome lyricist btw) called: Give 'em Hell...I beseech you to listen to it. You might actually change...for the better.

Live your lives as positive testimonies. Live without regrets. What have you got to lose by living right? The girls, money and rep come second to the fact that if we don't get to heaven, my friends; then we're going straight to hell...

That's all from the Scholastic Rebel...until next time: Peace.

Drumroll Please!!!....the Nigerian kind of course...

So, I'ma start this off. No. Not lyrically, for those of you who know me.
Welcome to Mein Bloggenheisen...aka My Blog, excuse my German. Here, I'll be putting up posts consisting of various topics, issues and whatever tickles my nigerian fancy. So let me start off with an introduction...

My name is Jolade. Ok fine. I LIED. My name is OMO...no, not OLUWA...Omojolade Olakiitan Hakeem Olusanya. I might have some other names buried somewhere in my history, but hey. I'm nigerian as you can see.

Born in London, but I travelled...or rather I was TRICKED into going to Nigeria at the age of 7 (my parents told me Nigeria was like London...PAR) and lived there for 8 years...(the stories will come later). I came back when I was 14 and I've not been back since.
I'm 19 now and I've got stories to tell. And by God, you'll listen!!

Stuff about me...well...I like to write poetry, raps...basically, I'm highly lyrical...you might see some rhymes poppin up here n there. I write novels as well. I'm a techno/anime/manga geek. I'm all about the music (you'll see posts about them as well).

But most of all, I'm mostly about my Parkour and Martial Arts. You'll deffo be seeing things  n pics about that cmin up.

But until that time, this is the Urban Sage saying: have a good sunday evening...and see you in the morning, God willing. Peace.
